If there were a book dedicated to Christian Working Mothers, Giveaways and a Link to an Awesome Ministry!

There are books EVERYWHERE and I am a BIG fan of reading them. I don't have nearly enough time to read everything I want to read, but words are my friends and my oxygen, so books are one of my favorite things (think Sound of Music!)...

I would love, love, love to one day (in God's timing), write a book dedicated to all of you! The Bible is the most important book for you to be reading, right? That should already be clear. But sometimes, we need something that speaks right to where we are at and hence, why there are so many books out there. God gives people a message and we are privileged to hear it and be encouraged by it.

If there were a book dedicated to YOU, a Christian Working Mother...what would YOU want to read about? I mean, this has to be something you will WANT to carve out time, in your already busy day, to sit down and read, something that you can also go back to, so it is not a one-time deal, it contains something that will help you in the day to day life as a CWM.

There are no right or wrong answers...so even if you just share a few thoughts, that would be awesome. The more responses I get, the more I will begin to see if they is a need and if so, what direction to go in. I will share a secret though first...
I think I already have a NAME for the book- wanna hear it?

The Grace Party:  Invitation, Celebration and Rejuvenation for the Christian Working Mother

Because who doesn't need a boatload of grace and who doesn't love a good party? And because I need to feel invited and welcomed in this life and I need to learn how to celebrate right where I am and oh my goodness, do I need rejuvenation!

I have a ton of giveaways thanks to The Christian Working Woman. This is an excellent resource for a working women covering much needed topics. Check out their site and leave some comments below! I will select several of you for some awesome giveaways. And check out the The Christian Working Woman FB Group to get even more connected!

I can't think of a title but I know a book that would inspire me to sit down would be one that would encourage me and inspire me within my busy schedule. It would give me great ideas of easy things I can do to connect better with God, my children, husband and myself. I've lost myself recently in the rush of life and sometimes it's hard to actually dream again with this tornado of a life. I don't want to look back and miss out on this time of life with my children. I want to enjoy life despite the rush. So I think a book on unrushing and refocusing the busy working mom.

A book that reminds ALL of us to let go and let God... that our gifts and talents are sometimes utilized outside the home. That are children are OK. That quality time with our spouse and family and children is what counts, and that God's plan encompasses all of this. Sometimes we as women are called to serve our purpose outside the home and that it is ok to lean in...all while leaning on Him.

Agreed, I found this site only a little bit ago and it has been a huge encouragement! Sometimes I feel like I'm on an island by myself with only stay-at-home moms (which I love my dear friends) around me but hard to relate with at times. I would love to read about balance; I work full-time at a church & my husband is the full-time high school youth pastor here as well at a large church. The balance between wife, mom, full-time ministry for myself & pastor's wife is sometimes daunting.

Love these comments ladies! Gonna give the post one more week to see what else pops up! I am hearing your hearts. Inspiration you can access within a busy schedule, encouragement/connection to help you thrive, ways to connect with your people intentionally and purposefully, how to find balance, slowing down, and being focused on what is most important...

Continue to share what YOU would like to see in a book for the Christian Working Mom! And please share this post with other CWM's!

Liz,

Being that I am not as well versed in the bible as I would like to be, I would love to see a bible verse connected with the various topics. I also agree with the women above that talked about how hard it is to strike a balance.

I am late to the conversation - but I think if there was a book dedicated to me a CWM - I would love for it to break out of our current era, socioeconomic, and cultural bubble we often live in. :) Perhaps, Breaking Free of our 21st Century Chrisitiancentric View of Working Moms? When we view the role and responsibilities of CWM through the eyes of our current time period, work structure, social class, and cultural upbringing we limit God and what he has done in the past and what he can do in the future! Do we understand how the spheres of economics and home life have become separated over the years? The Mommy Wars would take on a different tone if perhaps our limited view of who a working mommy is and what she does was challenged? God is the almighty God of all time, place, space, and people. Perhaps we should view our place in the Kingdom more holistically?

Just a few thoughts! :)
