My name is Liz and I am 36 years old. I am a believer in Jesus. I am wife to Aaron and Mom to Lincoln (6) and Benjamin (2). These three men are the loves of my life and second to my God, they are my world. I work full-time both in and outside the home as a Vocational Evaluator. I work with persons with disabilities and I assess their vocational educational skills and make recommendations for them. I LOVE what I do. It is different everyday, it allows me to do what I love- write, meet interesting people, learn new things, and help people see their God-given gifts and abilities. My job keeps things in perspective for me.
I have done various ministries but my heart in this season of life is for encouraging, providing perspective and connecting Working Mamas (and believe you me- I believe ALL Mamas are WORKING, but my focus right now are those juggling a career with motherhood). I love my Stay at Home Mama friends and have great respect for them and of course they are welcomed at this blog to share, encourage and connect.
I have a close friend who I meet with about once/month. She speaks my language. She knows my beauty and my yuck and is okay with it all. She makes me laugh, I learn from her and I RELATE to her. Being with her is like a BIG GIGANTIC BREATH OF FRESH AIR. After we hang out, I feel encouraged, my perspective is back where it should be and I feel connected/which for this introvert is very important.
My hope is that this blog can be a taste of this for those who read it and that they will find what my friend gives me: ENCOURAGEMENT, PERSPECTIVE AND CONNECTION. These are some of the topics on my heart that I will likely be talking about as they are where I am at and what God is teaching me:
- How to have GRACE for yourself and your people
- How to THRIVE as a Working Mama
- How to LOVE well, even when it is HARDWORK
- How to SAY NO (to you know, all that yucky stuff) and how to SAY YES (to the good stuff you are afraid of)
- How to change little things in life to be a BIGGER blessing to others
- How to MANAGE and BALANCE your life by laughing, being still, asking for help and taking care of yourself
- and more... :)
Liz
